If the voice of the read-aloud function does not sound right

If the audio quality of the read-aloud function is poor, this may be due to the following reasons:

  1. A different language is pre-installed on your device to the one used in your e-book
  2. Your browser is set to a different language to the one used in your e-book

If you are using the e-book in the browser or the app for Windows or Teams:

Please also try using the mobile apps for smartphones or tablets: www.edubase.ch/apps 
A slightly different technology is used there, which may produce better results.

Notes
Please bear in mind, however, that the e-book is not an ‘audiobook’. It is not primarily intended to be used as an audiobook.
The read-aloud function is designed to assist people with severe reading difficulties (dyslexia, LRS, etc.) or visual impairments: the read-aloud function provides targeted support when using the e-books.
It is possible to have a selected section of text or, at most, one page read aloud.
